My Experience at the India–Korea Business Partnership Event: Building Bridges for Technology and Cybersecurity

International business events are usually remembered for their agreements and announcements. For me, their real value lies in the conversations, relationships and ideas that come alive when people from different countries meet with a shared purpose.

I recently took part in the India–Korea Business Partnership Event in New Delhi, held during the state visit of President Lee Jae Myung of the Republic of Korea. It was a chance to meet business leaders and stakeholders, exchange perspectives and see first-hand how much room there is for India and South Korea to work together.

The event brought together people from government, business, technology, manufacturing and several other key sectors. It reminded me what becomes possible when businesses look beyond borders and build on trust, innovation and common interests.

A Platform for India–Korea Business Collaboration

The event was organised with the support of KOTRA, South Korea’s national trade and investment promotion agency, which helps Korean and international businesses connect and invest across borders. I was honoured to be invited by KOTRA, and it gave me a valuable chance to share ideas, build relationships and discuss how cybersecurity and digital resilience can strengthen technology partnerships between our two countries.

The occasion also reflected the shared vision of President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Lee Jae Myung to deepen economic cooperation, including the goal of reaching USD 50 billion in bilateral trade by 2030. As a cybersecurity entrepreneur, I find this especially meaningful. As both economies grow more digitally connected, secure infrastructure, data protection and trusted digital ecosystems will be essential to lasting cross-border growth.

A Meaningful India–Korea Business Connection

What I valued most was the range of conversations happening around me. Both countries are strong in technology, manufacturing, innovation and digital transformation, and each has plenty to learn from the other.

The Korea–India Business Partnership activities in New Delhi drew a large group of Korean and Indian companies, with a focus on deeper cooperation in advanced and strategic industries. Discussions touched on AI, cloud, digital transformation, manufacturing, energy and technology.

From where I stand, cybersecurity belongs at the centre of this conversation. As businesses become more connected, technology partnerships cannot be separated from security, privacy, resilience and trust. Whether a company is adopting cloud, AI, smart manufacturing or connected infrastructure, security has to grow alongside innovation.

Why Cybersecurity Matters in India–Korea Collaboration

Throughout the event, I kept coming back to how closely cybersecurity is tied to international business growth. When organisations in different countries work together, they share data, technology, intellectual property, digital services and operational information. Protecting these assets is what keeps trust intact between partners.

That is why cybersecurity is no longer just a technical function. It is part of business strategy.

I have spent years in this industry and have watched the threat landscape change at remarkable speed. Today, businesses must think about vulnerabilities across applications, networks, cloud environments, employees, third-party ecosystems and a growing number of connected technologies. When security is strong, organisations can innovate with far more confidence.

Learning From South Korea’s Technology Ecosystem

South Korea has built a world-class technology ecosystem, with real strength in semiconductors, electronics, manufacturing, telecommunications, artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure.

Joining conversations around this ecosystem let me look at the country not only through a business lens, but also through technology and cybersecurity. As digital transformation speeds up, the link between innovation and security only grows tighter. New technologies open new doors, and they bring new risks with them.

I see real potential for Indian and Korean businesses to share knowledge and collaborate on cybersecurity, secure digital transformation, governance, risk management and cyber resilience.

A Personal Opportunity to Build Global Connections

For me, taking part in an international forum is about more than representing my organisation. It is also about representing the experience, capability and ambition of Indian entrepreneurship on a global stage.

I had the chance to speak with leaders from many backgrounds, listen to their views and understand how they see India’s growing technology ecosystem. These conversations reinforced something I have believed throughout my entrepreneurial journey: global partnerships are built on relationships and trust long before they are built on agreements.

Every conversation can offer a new perspective. Every introduction can be a chance to learn. Every international interaction helps us understand how technology and business are evolving beyond our own markets.

Exploring Opportunities in South Korea

The event also deepened my interest in exploring opportunities in South Korea. As a cybersecurity professional, I see significant scope for collaboration as digital transformation spreads across industries.

For me, this is not simply about entering another market. It is about understanding the local technology environment, building genuine relationships, learning from a mature ecosystem and finding where Indian cybersecurity expertise can complement global innovation.

I believe India and South Korea can build stronger technology partnerships by combining their strengths in innovation, engineering, digital infrastructure, manufacturing and entrepreneurship.

Technology, Trust and the Future

The future of international business will be digital. Companies will keep adopting AI, cloud computing, connected technologies, automation and data-driven platforms, and as they do, trust will become one of the most important foundations of digital business.

A technology partnership creates lasting value only when the systems, data and operations behind it are secure. That is why I see cybersecurity as more than a defensive measure. It is an enabler of innovation. When businesses can protect their data, systems, customers and infrastructure, they are freer to experiment, collaborate, expand and grow sustainably.

Conclusion

My time at the India–Korea Business Partnership Event was a strong reminder of what can happen when technology, entrepreneurship and international collaboration come together.

I am grateful for the opportunity to take part and to meet the business leaders and stakeholders working toward stronger India–Korea economic and technology ties. My thanks also go to the Government of India, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources of the Republic of Korea, and KOTRA for creating platforms that encourage meaningful business engagement between our two countries.

For me, this is not the end of a conversation. It is the beginning of many more.

As I continue my journey as a cybersecurity entrepreneur, I look forward to building international relationships, sharing knowledge, exploring new ideas and contributing to a more secure digital future. India and South Korea have an exciting road ahead, and I am glad to be part of it.
