When leaders and entrepreneurs from some of the world’s fastest-growing economies share a room, the conversation goes well beyond business. It becomes a way to trade ideas, build relationships, and understand how different nations see the future. I experienced this first-hand as part of the Indian Delegation at the BRICS Business Forum 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
For me, this was far more than another international event. It was a chance to represent Threatsys and India’s growing cybersecurity capabilities on a global stage, and to see how digital trust and technology are shaping the way nations do business.
Representing India at BRICS
The forum opened on 11 September 2026, just ahead of the BRICS Leaders’ Summit on 12 and 13 September. Standing among government leaders, business councils, entrepreneurs, and corporate executives from BRICS and partner nations was a proud moment. I have always believed that Indian cybersecurity expertise can serve organisations well beyond our domestic market, and being in that room let me see that global conversation up close.
It also made me reflect on my own journey, from building Threatsys in Bhubaneswar to representing it at a forum of this stature. It showed me how far the Indian cybersecurity ecosystem has come, and how much is still left to build.
Hearing the Leaders
One of the most memorable moments for me was the Leaders Session addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He spoke about India’s 2026 BRICS chairship theme, “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability,” within the wider vision of “Humanity First.” I also heard Dr. S. Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs, and Shri Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry, who added valuable perspectives on international cooperation and economic engagement.
As a cybersecurity entrepreneur, I left thinking about how closely technology and economic growth are linked. Digital infrastructure now shapes how businesses operate, how countries work together, and how trust is built across borders.
Why Cybersecurity Belongs in This Conversation
Cybersecurity is no longer just an enterprise IT concern. It is tied to digital infrastructure, economic resilience, emerging technologies, data protection, and international cooperation. During India’s chairship, technology-related risks were part of the wider discussions on security and cooperation.
That matched what I see every day at Threatsys. The challenges discussed at national and international levels are the same ones organisations face daily: protecting critical infrastructure, securing digital platforms, meeting compliance requirements, and responding to new threats. To me, digital trust is fast becoming the foundation of modern economic growth.
Conversations That Stayed With Me
Early in the forum, I met Mr. Aryaman Vikram Birla, Director at Aditya Birla Group. We exchanged views on the evolving role of technology and cybersecurity across industries. For me, meetings like this are never just introductions. They are a chance to understand how leaders think about growth, innovation, and the challenges of an increasingly digital world
I also spoke with business delegations from Russia, Iran, Brazil, China, South Africa, Ethiopia, and other partner countries. Among them were Oleg Gorlov, Aleksandr Kopkov, Andrey Bardizh, Sergey Rybakov, and Shahab Javanmardy, representing CYBERUS, GSBI Limited, and FANAP ICT Holding. We talked about digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, digital trust, cross-border data, technology risk, and where we might collaborate.
These exchanges mattered because international business is often built outside the formal agenda. A short introduction can lead to a deeper discussion, and a shared challenge can grow into a lasting professional relationship. For me, the forum was as much about listening and learning as it was about representing India.
Meeting Vijay Shekhar Sharma
Meeting Mr. Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Founder of Paytm, was especially meaningful. I have followed his journey, and the transformation of digital payments in India, with great interest. His story shows what becomes possible when technology is used to solve everyday problems at scale.
It felt even more personal because Threatsys has worked with Paytm for the last three to four years, supporting cybersecurity compliance, due diligence, and RBI security audits. I was able to tell him that our team has been part of Paytm’s cybersecurity and compliance journey, and hearing his appreciation was a proud moment for me as a founder. The Work Behind the Conversations
At Threatsys, my team and I help organisations across industries with practical cybersecurity and compliance challenges. This includes regulatory audits, Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT), due diligence for mergers, partnerships and vendor onboarding, security consulting for market entry, incident response planning, risk assessment, and technology risk management.
Our long-standing work with Paytm shows what consistent delivery and trust can build. For me, cybersecurity is not about finishing one assessment and moving on. It is about being a dependable partner who helps organisations understand, manage, and reduce their technology risks over time.
Looking Ahead
BRICS 2026 strengthened my belief that the future of cybersecurity depends on international collaboration, innovation, digital trust, and shared knowledge. Speaking with leaders and delegations from different countries gave me fresh perspectives on how cybersecurity is viewed across markets, and it renewed my commitment to building Threatsys into an Indian company that contributes to the global digital ecosystem.
I return with new connections, new perspectives, and a stronger belief in the potential of Indian cybersecurity. At its heart, cybersecurity is about trust, and trust matters wherever technology connects businesses, people, and nations.
Final Thoughts
I am proud to be Indian. I am proud to represent India. And I am proud to carry the vision and work of Threatsys onto a global stage.
